Christmas 2006

This year the kids acted real silly when we were decorating the tree. They even let me take these pictures of them. When I saw this cute set from Julie, I knew I had to use it for this years pictures of our family. Then I decided to also make it my homework page for Darylynn's Homework. You will find my version below the pictures.

Aaw, an angel and a heart for our 2nd Christmas

Cute, for me the vet tech, my first job.

Where are the rest of my ornaments?


We set up our 7 foot artificial? Thanksgiving weekend. It has steady White lights and an angel on top. We have collected ornaments for the past 32 years and have so many that we can't put them all up. Tree decorating is a family affiar. We put on Christmas music, while we decorate and drink Mexican hot chocolate. My cousin and I get together to work on our cards and we both had them out by Dec. 1st. Some of the cards had a poem called Christmas in Heaven. My husband and son Daniel put up the outside icicle lights this year. I put colored lights around the front window along with the lighted snowman.

We normally put garland on the stairs, but since we are remodeling this year we are doing with out. The same with our Christmas village. We only put the new one up that Andrew and Marina gave us. It is a cute Post Office. We did put up most of our Nativities except the outside one which is also packed in the garage with the stuff we can't get to.

I like shopping whe I know what to get. Several people are getting scarfs that I have knitted. I like to make gifts when I can. I also made some glass jar pointsettia decorations and a few clay pot Nativities. I rarely regift.

We enjoy watching Christmas movies like Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolf and Frosty. It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street? It's a Wonderful Life and Home Alone. I love A Christmas Carol with Alistar Sims. And We have lots of different kinds of Christmas music.

We go to my husbands parent's on Christmas Eve, and enjoy a tamale dinner Our family opens gifts in the morning. Later we go with my family for dinner. This year we are going to my parent's house for Prime Rib. The Christmas tree comes down when I am ready to take it down. Sometimes before the NY, sometimes after.I hae learned to be flexible to keep peace of mind. I guess the next page I make will be on my Nativitiy Collection.
