Here is my dad working on his Christmas cards. I would help him make his special picture card. He wrote a year in review letter and then he would write a personl note to each person he sent his card too. He had a long list too and he received many cards in return. It was important for me to be with my dad since he was sick. We spent a lot of time talking. We talked about the true meaning of Christmas. I told him how we put the Nativity that mom and him gave us. We talked about how special it must in heaven. I showed him a poem that I had on my site that talked about that.

Here I am giving my dad his Christmas ornament.
It was special because it was a snowman cone and it was perfect
because dad loved the shaved ice we had while in Hawaii in June 2012.
I told dad how important onrnaments were to me. I told him how Jr and I
put up the first set of ornaments we had received from him and mom.
It was the year we got engaged, 1973. Those ornaments are so special to me.

Our annual Christmas card.






As I mentioned before, I love ornaments and I remembered to get
a Hawaiin ornament while we were in Hawaii. You can also see the
dad and mom snowcone ornament on the tree.


I give everyone a new Chrsitmas ornament each year and shared that
with my dad. So when we were discussing what he should get the great
grandkids, I suggested an ornament. Something they could remember him
bye. Dad gave me money and I went shopping. I helped him wrap and get
the cards ready for all the grandkids and relatives.
I stayed with my dad most of the week before Christmas
When I got home I had the grand kids open up there ornaments.
Each grandchild was happy to get an ornament from Papa Sam.

After presents and a snack, we headed to my sister Ann's house in Temecula.
