A few years ago I got a book called The Twelve Blessings of Christmas. I found it at the Christian bookstore after Christmas. I bring it out each year because it reminds me of the real meaining of Christmas. It also has lots of cute country graphics that make me smile. The book is written by TJ MilsEach blessing is a mini chapter of the book, filled with poems, recipes and Christmas ideas. You can tap the book below to read more about it.

The blessing of Warmth

When we think of warmth, a warm soft blanket, or a hot cup of chocolate by the fireplace may come to mind. It could be warm cookies fresh out of the oven or the security of our favorite stuffed animal.





The blessing of Music


"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!"
There are so many beautiful songs at this time of the year.
Joy to the World, the Lord has come. Let earth receiver her King.

Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King
Go tell it on the Mountain and more.
Stop and think what is special to you and why.
Be thankful that we have music to praise our God with year round,
and to sing with family and friends so we can keep CHRIST in Christmas.

The blessing of Kindness

I know that I have met kind people in my life. My cousin Joanie was there for me when the yucky things in me had to finally come out. her kindness made me feel safe and I learned what grace was. God us in each other's life to prepare us for our years that we would serve the church. Now he has us here. I know that I have met kind people on the net and we have seen kindness here in our own group. It is our kindness that lets us share our heart with others and lets others see Jesus in us. "be ye Kind to one another"



The blessing of Memories"

We all store special memories in our heart, and many are made at Christmas. Stop and think of one Christmas that was special for you. I could be from your childhood or anytime. I know Christmas was always special for us. We would go to our grandparents and be with our cousins and there was always lotso food and laughter. Christmas Eve service was always special growing up. As we left for the evening, each child was handed a bag of Christmas candy, nuts and fruit. I have so many fond memories that I have passed on to my family.

The blessing of Beauty


My parents have shown that beauty is something we see from our heart.
It is new precious life that is a gift from God and priceless.
It is aging love that stands steady in the face of adversity.
It is saying I love you and thank you from the heart. It is priceless.
Mom passed in 2010, 5 months after this picture was taken.
Dad passed in 2013, and I will see them both someday in Heaven.

This blessing is year round for me. Friendship is very rewarding. It takes time to make and keep friends. It takes love, patience, understanding and commitment. It is worth the time to invest in your friends because the rewards fill our soul and hearts.
