I got a really cute Christmas card from my friend Micki.
It had a Nativity that was under a claypot. Then I remembered
a craft I had seen and decided I wanted to try it. It is
simple too so I want to share it with you.

Step 1: .


Supplies:
Wooden knobs, 1 1/4' inch for Mary and Joseph
Small dowel caps for Baby Jesus
Flesh tone acrylic paint
1 sharpee for eyes or black acrylic paint.
Hot glue gun and sticks
Small clay pots
thin roll of jute for tying clothes on.
Spanish moss or brown shredded gift bag filler.
Assorted fabrics for clothing
example- Light for Mary, plaid for Joseph
baby 2x2 cotton flannel. cut with pinking shears

Step 2:

Paint all heads

Add eyes to heads
Glue heads to pots

Step 3:
Cut fabric pieces with pinking shears.
Mary & Joseph, 4"H, 6"L
Baby Jesus 2"x2"
Wrap baby and glue end closed.
Tie jute around the neck of baby.
Fill pots with fill. Place baby in pot.

Step 4:

Attach material to head with glue.
Tie jute around the neck of Joseph to hold in place
Cut piece of material from Joseph to make tie for
Mary's dress Trim back of dress if you want to

Step 5:



Optional, blush on cheeks, smile.
