Here I am touching the water to see how cold it is.
I actually took my shoes off and put my feet in the
river and yes it is cold. The river is wide here and
the rafters come this way and then exit. There are
parts of the river that are more calm.

This picture was taken as we were leaving the Kern
river area, heading down the highway towards Bakersield.
I had my husband stop so I could take these pictures.
As I was watching this, it made me think of how our life's
journey is very much like that of a river.

As we traveled down the mountain,we were surrounded on both
sides of the mountain. The river like the highway cut right
through the mountains as we jouneyed from a mountain area
to the desert area. The power of the fast moving river with
it's white caps cut through trees and over water worn rocks.
Then the river comes to a slower moving section. A place to
that look so peaceful and serene. But it is not quiet. There
is life in that water. And because of that river, there is life
all around. The river gives life to the surrounding area.

Then it a few seconds, that quiet river again turns into a
wild river, and even makes a quick turn along the mountain.
Man had learned to use the power of the river as I notice
as we pass a small power dam that coverts the power to electricity.
Water is the life source for this area

As we reach the city, it is so evident that without the river
there would be no life. Then the river is dependent on the rain.
And the true life source is the creator of the universe... GOD
