Time to go home.

This is around 6:30 am as we arrive at NY Harbor.
Ann and I got up around 5:00am so we could be at
the front of the ship as it sailed by the Statue
of Liberty and turn towards New York. It was too
dark for our pictures to come out with our cameras.

We were in one of the last groups to depart
so we had a long wait.

Did I say I was tired?
After going through customs, we got a nice
bus back to New Jersey. It had been raining
in New York the Friday before we arrived and
it was still misty and cold.

Here I am at the vending machine at the airport
I work for the USPS and I am the vending coord.
for my district. These machine are being fazed out.

The airport here in Newark, New Jersey has very strict
security. Dad told them that mom had a metal hip
and she still had to go through a intense search.
Mom did well through it. She did not like having
to take off her shoes and jacket. Ann forgot about
her souvenirs of maple syrup and jam and she had to
dump them. I felt really bad for her. They are strict
here because one of the planes hijacked in 911 was
from this airport and so the strict rules. After 911
the airport was name Newark, Libery Internationl.
Once we got through security, we had lunch at Fridays.

Dad looking at our plane preparing to take on passengers.

We had a long wait at the airport.

Mom and Dad got preboarding and we joined them
when the plane was almost filled. We did get
good seats in front of the wings for a change.
Take off went smoothly and on time.
We had a long wait at the airport.

I love how we go through the clouds to sunlight.

This is a picture of the sunset taken from my window.

It was my first night flight and it was nice looking
down at the cities below and wondering of Tammy was
down there in Mo. I knew when we were approaching Las Vegas
because the lights were so bright! I thought of you Judy!
It was exciting to fly into Los Angeles. SO many lights.
We had a smooth landing and got our bags quickly.
Home James, .... Dad and Mom, thank you for sharing
this wonderful trip with us!
