This is the first tea I helped with at my church.
It was such a nice experience, a special memory.
We had a lady playing a harp and there was a skit.
There was a mother and daughter doing a danceroutine
and a few poems were read.
The ladies at the church brought food and
the Women's Ministry provided the tea, coffe and punch.
My cousin Joanie hosted a table also.

I really treasure this picture
I am on the left with my daughter.
My sister Ann is in the middle and her daughter
Madeline is on the right sitting on my sister Terry's lap.
This page was taken in 1994.
Our grandma Chona is on the table behind us.
She went to be with the Lord in 1995.

When I was little I had a few child tea sets.
But it was the mornings at granmdas that were special.
But instead of tea she served me coffee in a little tin cup.
There was more milk and sugar than coffee.
Instead of scones we had little tortillas with butter.
Part of the fun was making the tortillas.

My grandma Louisa collected teacups.
Actualy she collected lots of things!
I guess that is why I do and she gave me several things.

We had a Garden theme in 1996.
The picture is of My grandma Louisa and my daughter Renee.
I had set my table with pansy dishes and teapots.
Eveyone got a napkin ring that was a mini wreath
with a bird in it. They got to take the napkin wreath home.
In 1997 we had a June Bridal theme and
our Pastor actually was the guest speaker.
Well we have had a tea every year and they are so special

But you don't have to go to a party to enjoy tea.
I try to use what I have even if it is just me and a freind.
I am not much of a baker,
so I try ro have tea cookies on hand

It's never to late to start enjoying the art of tea.
It can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be.
I think it is something we need to pass on to our girls.
Remember to have fun, whether cookies, scomes or tortillas.
Use your imagination, laugh and make memories!
